Primary duties: An artisan, or skilled craftsperson, works with their hands to create both decorative and functional items by applying traditional techniques. Often these techniques are native to their culture, background or the region where they live. Examples of items they may create include textiles, ceramics, wood carvings, pottery, furniture or jewelry.
Primary duties: Art teachers work with students to teach them how to express themselves creatively through different mediums. Some classes they may teach include photography, drawing, painting or sculpting. Art teachers often work for schools, but they can also offer programs through art museums, community outreach programs or online.
